Asia Argento is an Italian actress and film director who was born into the largest family with both. She's taken on these two fields of work for herself. In 1985, she made her debut in the film of Sergio Citti, Sogni e bisogni. In 1988, she played the lead role in the debut film of Cristina Comencini, Zoo (1988), as well as being one of the actors in The Church (1989), directed by Michele Soavi. The film she made about her dad and then Abel/Asia (1998), a film that won a prize during the Rome Film Festival, were both produced between 1996 and 1998. Asia started directing her first feature film in 1999 with Scarlet Diva (2000). The film also featured her as the principal performer, as well as the creator for the screenplay.
